Leptospirosis is an intensely discussed topic especially in the small animal veterinary practice. It has been recognised that the protection provided by vaccination against this bacterial pathogen is relatively short during times of high pressure of infection. Furthermore we see a limited cross-immunity induced by the vaccination towards the leptospiral serovars not included in the vaccination.
Below we have listed the incidence of serologically positive reactions towards the eight serovars included in our test with a titer indicative for an infection. The list includes data for dogs, cats, horses and cattle and presents the determined titer maxima by means of microagglutination (MAT).
