The examination supports a diagnosis or an exclusion in suspected lymphomas. In cases of positive results a differentiation between B- and T-cell lymphomas is done simultaneously. The examination can be done in all materials containing lymphocytes (fixed and unfixed tissue, smears, EDTA-blood). Cytologic or histologic preexaminations are highly recommended to proof the presence of lymphocytes. The cells can be taken directly from the smears or the paraffin block.
